It’s the beginning of 2018 and we officially have a 9 month old in the house.
Ethan is so smart, he has become more focused on what he likes and definitely let’s you know what he doesn’t like. When something new catches his eye, he is hell bent on exploring it until it ends up in his mouth. He can start his musical toys, knock over his stacked cups, find his pacifier in the mix of his toys and put it in his mouth. He definitely has to be in the action watching people as they cook or clean. He can hold eye contact as he has a “conversation” with you.
As of a few days ago, he can now sit without assistance but he still isn’t ready to sit himself up yet. Ethan sure is good at the falling down part though.
What a mover! Ethan has learned to roll and do 360° turns on his belly to get where he wants to go. And boy is he fast. Since he’s becoming more mobile, he hates being in his car seat for any length of time. The only way to calm him is to play his musical elephant and keep the car seat moving.
No teeth yet but he chews on rubber toys and drools like they are about to pop out any day now.
9 months old with adjusted age of 6.4 months old.
3 to 6 months
15 lbs 8 oz
Bottles: Drinks up to 6 oz. Every 2 to 3 hours during the day.
Solids: We started him on yams, carrots and avocados. He wasn’t too sure what to think with the yams and carrots but he absolutely loves avocados. He also enjoys baby sweet potato and carrot crackers. It’s so fun watching him learn new tastes and textures. And the mess! It’s a good thing it’s cute watching babies eat or I’d get sick of constantly washing the baby, highchair, floor and clothes.
Still sleeps through the night. 1030 pm to 7 am. He some how knew he needed to stay awake for New Year’s because he didn’t go to bed until 12:15 am.
