I can’t believe Ethan is over 7 months old now. It doesn’t seem that long ago we were spending our long days at the TG NICU. But now he is growing into a bog boy weighing over 14 lbs now. Whooo! It’s crazy how it took Ethan so long to gain weight and grow up until a month ago and now he’s growing like a weed. I’m constantly going through his clothes and pulling out the ones he’s out growing. A part of me is ready for the next stage for him but I’m not ready for him to leave his baby phase.
In the past month, he has grown not only in size but with his motor skills and physical activities. He is great at rolling around on the floor from toy to toy. He can grab items easy enough to shove them in his mouth. Yes! Everything does go in the mouth. Ethan is starting to sit up on his own, eat cereal, and once he sees an item, he goes for it. Not very well I might add. But the effort is there as he kicks and screams the whole way. Oh, and boy does he love to socialize. Meeting new people is his new favorite thing. Anyone who comes up to him at the store or on walks, he’s full of smiles and giggles.
Now I get all babies have these amazing mile stones and we are to expect them to happen. It’s a little different when you have a preemie baby. In the first moments of his life, we were worried what was going to happen. Was he going to make it? Were there going to be any complications? Is he going to pull through with only little battle scares? We had so many questions. So for us getting to see the wonder and joy in his eyes everyday, it’s a miracle for us.
Height: 24 inches
Weight: 14 lbs.
On average, Ethan is still eating about 5 oz bottles but we have been given the go ahead to add cereal into his diet. So far, I’d say he’s going to be a very picky eater. But we are pushing through and up until now, he will eat about 2 to 5 bites before he refuses and I have to put it into a bottle.
This child definitely takes after both of his parents! We love to sleep! At some point Ethan decided to make his own sleep schedule and he has stuck with it ever since. Off to bed around 10 to 11 p.m. and up around 8 a.m. for breakfast, then off for a nap until noon! YES, it is amazing. How did we get so lucky?
